Cue Cards for Active Recall

Four retrieval angles per topic — scenarios, reasoning, key terms and quick formulas — generated from the same curriculum-aligned content as your flashcards.

Flashcards test individual facts, but exams ask you to apply, explain and connect those facts. Revizi’s cue cards train the kind of retrieval examiners actually reward — a short scenario where you have to identify which concept applies, a "why/how" reasoning prompt, a key term to define, or a quick formula recall with variables and units. Each topic’s cue-card deck independently covers the syllabus across all four angles, so you build understanding alongside memorisation.

How It Works

1

Open Any Topic

Navigate to any topic in your subject and tap the CueCards tab next to FlashCards.

2

AI Generates the Deck

Revizi’s AI analyses the syllabus content for that topic and builds a deck of scenario, reasoning, term and formula cue cards.

3

Filter and Search

Filter by Scenario, Reasoning, Term or Formula. Search within the deck. Tap a card to flip and reveal the bulleted recall.

4

Study Holistically

Use cue cards alongside flashcards, study notes and quizzes for a complete study approach — recognition, recall, application, and reasoning.

Benefits

Four Retrieval Angles

Every deck includes scenario cards, reasoning ("why/how") cards, key term cards, and quick formula cards (STEM only) — not just one card type.

Curriculum-Aligned

Cue cards are built from your syllabus content, not generic templates. Every card connects to examinable material.

Independent Coverage Per Angle

Each angle independently covers the topic, so studying just Scenarios or just Terms still gives you full syllabus reach.

Search and Filter

Searchable grid with angle filter chips, the same look and feel as the FlashCards tab — no extra learning curve.

Plain Unicode Formulas

Formula cards use plain Unicode (×, Δ, π) instead of LaTeX, so they render correctly on every device, including offline.

Complements Flashcards

Flashcards test recognition, cue cards train retrieval and reasoning. Use both together for complete exam preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are cue cards?

Cue cards are short retrieval prompts that train active recall and reasoning rather than recognition. Revizi’s decks include four card types: scenarios (situation → which concept applies), reasoning (why/how questions with multi-step bullets), key terms (term → precise definition + bullets), and quick formulas (formula name → equation, variables, units, when to use).

How are Revizi’s cue cards generated?

Revizi’s AI scans the existing flashcards and the curriculum syllabus for each topic, identifies the essential exam-level concepts, then builds a deck where every concept is covered across the relevant angles. Decks are cached per topic so the second visitor onwards loads instantly.

Are cue cards available for all subjects?

Yes — cue cards are available across the curricula and subjects Revizi covers (HSC, VCE, QCE, WACE, SACE, TCE, ACT SSC). Visual/Performing Arts and Language subjects don’t use cue cards because the study patterns differ.

Do non-STEM subjects get formula cards?

No. Quick formula cards are STEM only (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Software/Computing, Mathematics). For Humanities, English, Religion, Legal Studies, Business and similar subjects, the deck focuses on Scenarios, Reasoning and Key Terms.

Are cue cards included on all plans?

Yes. Cue cards are available for pre-built curriculum topics on all plans. Pro users get higher limits for cue-card generation across their own AI-generated collections as well.
