Three sections: listening (interview-style), reading (comprehension and response), writing (short and extended responses in Japanese), plus an oral examination.
Are kanji lists prescribed?
Yes. VCAA prescribes a list of kanji for recognition and production at each level. Students must be fluent in these characters for the exam.
